WOMEN EMPOWERMENT PROGRAMME:

SEED has undertaken several initiatives to promote the socio-economic development of women in its operational area. The formation and strengthening of Self-Help Groups (SHGs) engaged in income-generating activities have enabled women to emerge as key contributors to their family economy. Through capacity-building efforts, along with bank and credit linkages facilitated by SEED, women are increasingly participating in the development process while also gaining enhanced social dignity.

The income-generating programs of SHG members have not only empowered women as economic earners but also instilled a greater sense of confidence and self-reliance. SEED supports these groups by assisting in the selection of suitable trades for Income Generation Programmes (IGPs), facilitating record-keeping, and providing technical guidance for sustainability as well as:

Reproductive healthcare
Institutional delivery
Safe drinking water practices
Use of mosquito nets and footwear
Proper use of sanitary toilets
Promotion of kitchen gardening

RIGHT ACTION PROGRAMME

SEED takes active part in rights based and action oriented programmes. The rights of women get priority over other action agenda. SEED organizes meetings, road shows and campaigns on:

Gender equality and mainstreaming
Women's legal rights and entitlements
Climate change and environmental issues
Government welfare and rural development schemes
Child rights, literacy, livelihoods, and primary education

SEED promotes women's participation in development process and enabling their voice to be heard at appropriate platform.

INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY

International Women's Day is celebrated every year on 8th March at SEED Kanyashram with enthusiastic participation from women, villagers, Self-Help Group (SHG) members, mothers, and students. The event is marked by rallies, skits, and speeches addressing critical social issues such as dowry, women's trafficking, and female feticide.

The program also provides a platform for successful women entrepreneurs to share their life-changing journeys, inspiring others to pursue education, self-reliance, and empowerment.
