VOLUNTEERS PROGRAMME::

The Volunteers Programme at SEED Kanyashram, Tandapalli, is a dynamic initiative that welcomes individuals from diverse backgrounds and countries to contribute their skills, passion, and ideas to uplift the lives of tribal girl students. Volunteers are a vital asset to SEED, bringing unique perspectives and fostering cross-cultural learning. This programme enables volunteers to apply their expertise, showcase innovative ideas, and collaborate with SEED to create a positive impact on the community, particularly for the poorest of the poor.

A Platform for Mutual Learning

The Volunteers Programme is designed to facilitate a meaningful exchange of knowledge and experience. Volunteers have the opportunity to work closely with local staff and students, sharing their skills while gaining insights into the challenges and aspirations of tribal communities. In return, SEED benefits from new models of work and innovative approaches introduced by volunteers. This blending of thoughts, ideas, and experiences creates a transformative impact on both the volunteers and the SEED community.

Making a Difference

Volunteering at SEED offers a unique opportunity to make a tangible difference in the lives of underprivileged girls in a short time. Volunteers live and work alongside local residents, gaining a deeper understanding of their culture and challenges while contributing to educational and welfare initiatives. The programme provides immense satisfaction through direct engagement with students, helping them access better education, healthcare, and a nurturing environment.

Volunteer Contributions

Volunteers have played a significant role in enhancing SEED Kanyashram's educational and infrastructural landscape:

  • 2020 (M.A.P., Hadida France Visit): Maryel Dutrey from M.A.P., Hadida France, visited SEED Kanyashram from 11/01/2020 to 27/02/2020. During her stay, she oriented staff on effective teaching methods and guided campus development activities. Under her direct supervision, key projects were completed, including:
    • Construction of a handwashing point with 10 water taps adjacent to the dining area, benefiting 10 students during meals.
    • Renovation of toilets, bathrooms, and sanitary facilities for students and staff, including the construction of a new sanitary toilet for staff.
    • Building a concrete road connecting the toilets, dining hall, and school complex.
    • Installation of a temporary iron mesh around a pond for student safety.
    • Electrical work in classrooms to improve learning environments.
    • Provision of dress materials, sports equipment, and teaching aids to 35 girl students.
  • 2021-22: Volunteers, including members from women's self-help groups, integrated child development teachers, ASHA workers, youth, and local teachers, participated in campus development activities. These efforts included vegetable cultivation, flower planting, electrical fittings, water pump repairs, toilet renovations, construction of ramps, and campus beautification through regular cleanliness drives.
