SPONSORSHIP PROGRAMME:

The Sponsorship Programme at SEED Kanyashram, Tandapalli, plays a pivotal role in transforming the lives of tribal girl students by providing essential educational and welfare support. This initiative ensures that underprivileged girls have access to quality education, healthcare, and a nurturing environment, enabling them to pursue their dreams with dignity and confidence. SEED draws its strength from various organizations and individuals, both within the state and beyond, who provide financial, technical, and institutional assistance to sustain and expand this impactful program.

Comprehensive Support for Tribal Girls

Through the Sponsorship Programme, SEED has extended critical services to tribal girls, including free healthcare, nutritious food, school uniforms, books, teaching materials, and full access to academic and residential facilities. Over the years, the program has grown to support an increasing number of students:

  • 2024-25: Supported 26 tribal girls in Classes VII and VIII with comprehensive care, including healthcare, learning materials, uniforms, and nutritious food.
  • 2023-24: Provided services to 26 students in Classes VI and VII, ensuring access to all regular student facilities.
  • 2022-23: Extended support to 26 tribal girls, with an additional 36 students enrolled in Class VI, receiving dress materials, food, healthcare, and teaching materials.
  • 2021-22: Supported 20 tribal girls with essential resources, despite challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • Since 2013: Consistently supported 20-36 girls annually with books, dress materials, health check-ups, and special meals during festivals and holidays.

During the COVID-19 pandemic (2021-22), when the school was closed, SEED adapted by providing virtual classes where possible. For students with limited connectivity, teachers visited their homes to deliver guidance and learning materials. Awareness campaigns on health and safety protocols, such as mask-wearing, physical distancing, and hand-washing, were conducted to protect students and their families.

Support from M.A.P., Hadida France

Since 2013, M.A.P., Hadida France, has been a key partner in SEED's Sponsorship Programme. Maryel Dutrey's visits have been instrumental in guiding campus development and effective teaching practices:

  • 2020 Visit (11/01/2020-27/02/2020): Maryel Dutrey oriented staff on teaching and campus development, overseeing projects like the construction of a handwashing point, toilet and bathroom renovations, and classroom electrical work. She also provided dress materials, sports equipment, and teaching aids to 35 students.
  • 2021-22: Supported vegetable cultivation, flower planting, electrical fittings, water pump repairs, hostel renovations, and the supply of dress and teaching materials to students.

Creating Joyful Moments

The Sponsorship Programme has brought joy to the students through special initiatives, such as serving festive meals during holidays and national celebrations. These efforts foster a sense of community and celebration, enhancing the emotional well-being of the children.

Impact and Vision

The Sponsorship Programme has significantly improved the academic performance, physical health, and emotional well-being of tribal girls at SEED Kanyashram. By providing comprehensive support and improving campus infrastructure, the program has created an enabling environment for students to thrive. SEED remains committed to expanding this initiative to reach more students and further enhance the quality of education and life for tribal girls.
